About Try a Wrap

A full wrap costs thousands, and the colour is chosen from a small swatch or someone else's car. Try a Wrap lets you see a shade and a finish on a photo of your own car first, free and without sending the photo anywhere.

How the previews are made

The visualizer runs in your browser. One tap grows a selection over the paint of the same colour; the film's colour then replaces the paint's, while the lightness of every pixel, its shading and reflections, is kept and adjusted to the finish. Nothing is generated by an image model and nothing is uploaded.

Where the figures come from

Every price on the site names its source and the date it was read: an installer's published price list in the United States, MyHammer's price radar in Germany, AutoScout24's guide in France. Search figures come from our own Google Keyword Planner measurements. A figure without a source is not published.

Who writes the guides

The guides are written under the name Alex Morgan, the pen name of the small team that builds the site. Corrections and questions are welcome at hello@tryawrap.com.
