Jeep Wrangler wrap: cost, film and colours on your own Jeep
A Jeep Wrangler wrap costs about $2,000 to $6,000 installed and takes about 253 square feet of film, 50 to 55 feet of a 5 foot roll. Here is what drives the price, what a printed kit costs, and the colours Wrangler owners search, each ready to try on a photo of your Jeep.
A Jeep Wrangler wrap costs about $2,000 to $6,000 for a full colour change installed by a shop, and about $1,000 to $2,000 if you wrap it yourself with someone who has done it before, according to VinylFrog, a wrap film seller. The Wrangler is a good candidate: flat doors, a removable hard top and fenders that are easy to wrap one by one. Before you compare quotes, see the colour on a photo of your own Jeep: gloss teal, matte black or matte army green open with your Wrangler already named.
What a Jeep Wrangler wrap costs
No survey publishes wrap prices, so the table lists the published prices we could read, each with its source and date. They answer different questions: a seller's range for a full wrap, a general installer's list for panels, and the price of a printed graphic kit you install yourself.
| Option | Price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Full solid colour wrap, installed | $2,000 to $6,000 | VinylFrog, 2023 |
| Full wrap, DIY with help | $1,000 to $2,000 | VinylFrog, 2023 |
| Full colour change, any car | from $2,500 | Blackout Window Tinting, 2026 |
| Hood only | $400 | Blackout Window Tinting, 2026 |
| Printed graphic kit, Wrangler JL 4 door | $1,199.99 | Proline Wraps, 30 October 2026 |
| Printed graphic kit, Wrangler JK 4 door | $1,074.99 | Proline Wraps, 30 October 2026 |
The spread comes from the film and the coverage. A solid gloss or matte film costs least; metallic, colour flip and chrome films cost more to buy and to lay. A shop that removes the door handles, lights and hard top before wrapping leaves cleaner edges and charges more hours. Ask each shop which film brand and line it uses and what it removes: two quotes are only comparable at the same film and coverage.
How much vinyl a Wrangler takes
VinylFrog puts the surface of a Jeep Wrangler at about 230 square feet on average. Adding 10 percent for waste and mistakes gives about 253 square feet, which on a 5 foot wide roll is 50 to 55 feet of film. A 2 door Wrangler takes less, a 4 door Unlimited more.
That figure is also a cross-check on a quote. Blackout Window Tinting's 2026 list prices standard cast vinyl at $7 to $12 per square foot and specialty films at $12 to $25 or more; applied to 253 square feet, that is $1,771 to $3,036 in a standard film and $3,036 to $6,325 in a specialty film, our multiplication, which brackets VinylFrog's $2,000 to $6,000. A quote far below that range usually covers less of the Jeep or uses a cheaper calendered film.
Colour change or printed graphics
A colour change wraps the whole body in one film, so the Jeep looks painted in the new colour. A printed graphic kit is cut to the shape of the Wrangler and printed with a pattern (camo, a topographic map, stripes); Proline Wraps sells its kits at $1,074.99 for a 4 door JK and $1,199.99 for a 4 door JL, read on 30 October 2026, for you or a shop to install.
Many owners mix the two: a solid colour on the body and a black or graphic hood, fender flares left in their black plastic. The visualizer has a second layer for exactly that: wrap the body in satin army green, then switch to the accent layer and tap the hood to try it in black.
Which finish suits a Wrangler
VinylFrog lists five finishes for a Wrangler wrap: gloss, metallic, chrome, matte and carbon fibre. The finish changes the price as much as the look, because the film class changes. Applied to the 253 square feet a Wrangler takes, the per square foot prices of Blackout Window Tinting's 2026 list give the film budget of each class, our multiplication:
| Finish | Film class | Film for a Wrangler | On a Jeep | Try it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gloss | Standard cast | $1,771 to $3,036 | Looks like paint, shows scratches from branches | Gloss teal |
| Satin | Standard cast | $1,771 to $3,036 | Soft sheen, hides small marks better than gloss | Satin army green |
| Matte | Standard cast | $1,771 to $3,036 | No reflection, hides dust, needs gentle washing | Matte khaki |
| Chrome | Specialty | $3,036 to $6,325 | Mirror effect, the hardest film to lay on the Wrangler's edges | Silver chrome |
Metallic and colour flip films sit between the two classes depending on the line; carbon fibre is usually kept to the hood or the mirrors. The column "On a Jeep" is our reading of how each finish behaves on a vehicle that goes off road; the visualizer shows the reflections of each finish on your own photo, which a swatch cannot.
The colours Wrangler owners search for
Teal leads the colours searched with the Wrangler's name, according to our Keyword Planner measurement of 29 October 2026 in the United States. Each line opens the colour in the visualizer with your Jeep named, so you can add your photo and compare:
| Search | US searches a month | Note | Try it |
|---|---|---|---|
| teal jeep wrangler | 1,000 | the most searched colour with the Wrangler | On my Jeep |
| matte black jeep wrangler | 590 | the classic wrap look | On my Jeep |
| army green jeep wrangler | 390 | the military look, best in matte or satin | On my Jeep |
"Red jeep wrangler" is searched more, about 3,600 times a month, but mostly by people looking at red Jeeps for sale. For a wrap, pick the finish as carefully as the colour: matte hides dust and small dents on a Jeep that goes off road, gloss shows every scratch. To pick a real film by its code, the 3M wrap colors list opens each of the 105 films of 3M's 2080 palette on your photo.
How hard a Wrangler is to wrap, and how long it lasts
A Wrangler takes more care than a sedan: VinylFrog points to its boxy shape, its body lines and its many separate parts (fenders, doors, bumpers), and to accessories such as winches, light bars and snorkels that the installer has to work around or remove. Its advice is to leave the job to an experienced installer if you have never wrapped a vehicle. The flat panels help a beginner on a hood or a door, which is why a partial wrap is the usual DIY first step.
A good quality vinyl lasts 3 to 4 years, the same guide says, depending on the film, the installation, the exposure and the care. For a Jeep that means hand washing with a mild soap and a microfiber cloth, no automatic car wash with brushes, and parking away from overhanging branches. Trail scratches stay on the film rather than on the paint, and a damaged panel can be rewrapped on its own: on a Wrangler, a door or a fender costs far less to redo than a full wrap.
Before you wrap a Wrangler
A wrap shows what is under it: have rock chips and scratches repaired first, since they telegraph through the film. Trail use is hard on a wrap, so ask the shop about the edges on the fenders and the lower doors, where branches and gravel hit, and about the warranty if you go off road. Decide whether the hard top and the fender flares are wrapped, since they change the film and the hours. Then try the colour on a photo of your own Jeep in the visualizer, and add up the panels in the car wrap cost calculator if you only want a hood or a roof.
